What Is The Bar Bending Schedule?

Bar bending schedule means the calculation of the rebar or steel in any foundation that any RCC member uses in civil engineering. in the bar bending schedule, we calculate the rebar diameter which is used in RCC member weight of steel length of steel and how to fix our steel.

How To Calculate The Bar Bending Schedule For Footing

we calculate the bar bending schedule for the footing with the help of the given data

For Example,

we have given data 

Length of the footing=1.8m

Width of the footing=1m

Height/thickness  of the footing =500mm=0.5m

Diameter of the main bar=16mm

Diameter of distribution bar=16mm

Spacing between two bar=150mm

Concrete cover bottom and top=75mm

Concrete cover of side=75mm

Solution

We calculate the bar bending schedule step by step

1-Calculate the  main bar / Short

2- Calculate the distribution/bar Long bar

1-Calculate the main bar or bottom bar/Short bar

Cutting Lenght of bottom bar/Short bar=width of footing-2 concrete cover+2 bends

Cutting Lenght of bottom bar/short bar=1000-2(75)+2(350)                 (bends= total height of footing – 2 C.C)

Cutting Lenght of bottom bar/short bar=1000-150+700=1550mm 

Number of bottom bars/short bars

Number of bottom bars/short bar = Total Length of Footing/spacing +1

Number of bottom bars/short bar =1800/150+1=13Numbers

Total Length of bottom bars/short bar

The total length of the bottom bar / short bar= cutting length of the bar × Number of bar

The total length of the bottom bar / short bar= 1550 × 13=20150=20.150m

Weight of bottom bar / short bar

Weight of bottom bar / short bar=d²/162×total length

Weight of bottom bar / short bar= 16²/162×20.150=31.84=32KG

2- Calculate the distribution/bar Long bar

Cutting length of distribution bar / long bar

Cutting length of distribution bar / long bar=length of footing-2 concrete cover + 2 bends

Cutting length of distribution bar / long bar=1800-2(75)+2(350)            (bends= total height of footing – 2 C.C)

Cutting length of distribution bar / long bar=1800-150+750=2350mm=2.350m

Number of distribution bar /long bar

Number of distribution bar /long bar=total width of footing/spacing +1

Number of distribution bar /long bar= 1000/150+1=7.667=8Numbers

The total length of the distribution bar /long bar

The total length of distribution bar /long bar=cutting length of the long bar × Number of the long bar

The total length of the distribution bar /long bar=2350×8=18800mm=18.800m

Weight of distribution bar /long bar

Weight of distribution bar /long bar= d²/162×total length

Weight of distribution bar /long bar=16²/162×18.800=29.70=30kg

Total Length of Both bar

The total length of the main bar+ Total length of the distribution bar

20.150+18.800=38.950m

Total Weight Of Both Bar

Weight of main bar + Weight of distribution bar

32KG =30KG=62KG
