In the bar bending we will find the cutting length of the steel diameter of the fixing of steel design of fixing of the steel and weight of the steel in the column.

How To Find BBS For The Circular Column

Now we find the bar bending schedule for circular column by given data. given data is just for method of learning that is some data is reals standard. we calculate the BBS of circular column with the help of this data is mentioned below.

Given data

The Diameter of the Circular Column =450mm=0.450m

The height of the circular Column  =3000mm=3m

The Diameter of the vertical straight bar = 20mm

The Numbers of the vertical straight bar = 12 no’s

The diameter of the Circular ring or Lateral ties = 10mm

The concrete cover of the circular column for all sides = 25mm

The spacing Between lateral ties of Circular Column = 150mm

Now we Calculate The Detail For BBS

Cutting Length of Verticals Bar  

The Cutting length of The vertical bar = Total Height of Column +Duck leg length- 2bends

Duck leg length = 16d (16 x 20 = 320mm

2bends = 2d = 2 x 20 = 40mm

The Cutting length of The vertical bar = 3000 + 320 – 40 = 3280mm=3.280m

Total length of the vertical bar = Total numbers of the vertical bar x cutting length of bar

we Know 

The Number of the Vertical bar = 12 no’s

Total length of the vertical bar = 12 x 3.280 =39.360mm=39.360m

The Total Weight of the vertical bar

The Total Weight of the vertical bar = D²/162 x The Total Length of vertical bar

The Total Weight of the vertical bar = 20²/162 x 39.360 = 97.18 =98kg

The Cutting Length of the lateral Ties

To find the cutting the length of the lateral ties 1st Calculate the Numbers of lateral ties

The diameter of the lateral ties = 10mm

The Number of the lateral Ties 

The Number of the lateral ties= Total height of the circular column/spacing between ties +1

The Number of the lateral ties= 3000/150 + 1 =21no’s

NOW Calculate the Cutting length of lateral ties 

The Cutting Length of the lateral Ties = ΠD + 2 x 10d – 2 x3d

Π = 3.14

D =  Diameter of the lateral ties center to center of the lateral ties

so

D = diameter of the column – 2 concrete cover -diameter of the lateral ties

D =500-2 x25 -10 =500-60=440mm=0.440m

d = diameter of the lateral ties = 10mm

The Cutting Length of the lateral Ties = ΠD + 2 x 10d – 2 x3d

The Cutting Length of the lateral Ties = Π x 440 +2(10x 10)-2(3×10)

The Cutting Length of the lateral Ties = Π x 440 +200 -60 = 1522mm=1.522m 

The Total length of the lateral ties

The Total length of the lateral ties = Cutting length of the lateral ties x Number of the ties

The Total length of the lateral ties =21 x 1522 = 31962mm=31.962m

The Weight of the lateral ties

The Weight of the lateral ties = D²/162 x Total length of the lateral ties

The Weight of the lateral ties = 10²/162 x 31.962 = 19.72=20kg
