How To Calculate The Bar Bending Schedule For Slab One-Way And Two Way

Find the bar bending schedule for the slab means all detail find the steel used in the slab-like diameter of the bar length of the bar weight of the bar and fixing of the bar.BBS For Slab. BBS For one-way Slab.BBS For two-way Slab. How To Calculate The Bar Bending Schedule for Slab. How To Calculate The Bar Bending Schedule For Slab One-Way And Two Way

What is The One-Way And Two-Way Slab

The one-way slab and Two way slab is the only difference between the steel. means we can check the difference in steel fixing. if the main bar or bent-up bar comes to the shorter side and the distribution bar comes to the long side its means this is a one-way slab. if the main bar or bent-up bar comes to both sides its means this is a Two-way slab.

Rebar Location of one-way slab

Main bar or bentup abr is the shorter side

The Straight bar on the long side. and this abr is distribution bar.

The bent-up on the up side and the extra bar is bottom on bent-up bar.

Rebar Location of Two-way slab

The Straigh bar, main bar and bent-up abr are the same size on both sides.

The bent-up on the up side and the extra bar is bottom on bent-up bar on both sides.

How To Calculate The Bar Bending Schedule For Slab One-Way And Two Way

Deatil Given Data For Calcultion

Slab length on beam side = 5000mm = 5m

The Widht of the slab Expected beam (90º) = 2000mm = 2m

The Length of the extra bar is equal to L/4 = 2000/4 = 500mm

The diameter of the bentup bar = 16mm

The diameter of the top side of the extra bar = 16mm

The diameter of the distribution bar = 12mm

The spacing between main bar and distribution bar = 150mm

The Concrete Cover both sides  B and T= 20mm

The Concrete Cover of the both side L and R side =  25mm

Now Solution

  • The Cutting length of the main bar
  • The Weight of the main bar
  • The Cutting length of the distribution bar
  • The Weight of the distribution bar
  • The Cutting length of the  Extra bar
  • The Weight of the Extra bar

The Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar (16mm)

Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar = clear span+2 x Ld+crank length – 2bends (45º)

Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar = 2000+2x40d+0.42D-2×45º

Now Calculate the (d)

The Ld = development length of the rebar

The Ld = 40d = 40 x 16 = 640mm

Now Calculate the D

The Crank length  = 0.42D

D= depth of the slab – 2x L and R concrete cover – diameter of the bar

Depth of the slab = 150

concrete cover L and R = 25

Diameter of the bar = 16mm

D = 150 – 2 x 25 – 16 = 84mm

The bends of 45º = 1d = 1 x 16 = 16

So

Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar = 2000+2x40d+0.42D-2×45º

Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar = 2000+2x40x16+0.42 84 – 2×16

Cutting length of the main bar or Bent-up bar =3283.28mm = 3.283m

The Number of the main bar

The Number of the main bar = length of the slab/spacing between rebar +1

The Number of the main bar = 5000/150+1=34.33 says 35No’s

The total length of the main bar

The Total length of the main bar= cutting length of the one bar x numbers of the bar

The Total length of the main bar= 3.283 x 35 =114.915m

The Weight of the main bar

Weight of the main bar = d²/162 x Total length of the main bar

Weight of the main bar = 16²/162  x 114.915 =182kg

The Cutting length of the distribution bar (12mm)

The Cutting length of the distribution bar = Total length of slab + 2x Ld

We Know

Ld = 40d =40 x12 = 480mm

The Cutting length of the distribution bar = 5000 + 2 x 480 =5960mm  = 5.960m

The Number of The Distribution bar

The Number of The Distribution bar = width of the slab/spacing between rebar +1

The Number of The Distribution bar = 2000/150+1= 15No’s

The total length of the distribution bar

The total length of the  distribution bar = length of the one bar x number of the bars

The total length of the distribution bar =  5.960 x 15 = 89.400m

The Weight of the distribution bar

The Weight of the distribution bar =  d²/162 x Total length of the distribution bar

The Weight of the distribution bar =  12²/162  x 89.400 = 80kg

The Cutting length of the Top Extra bar

The Cutting length of the Top Extra bar= width of the slab /4 = 2000/4 =500

The Number of the Top extra bar

The Number of the top extra bar = The Number of the main bar

35=35

The Total length of the top extra bar = cutting length of the one bar  x number of bar

The Total length of the top extra bar = 500 x 35 = 17.500m

The Weight of the Top Extra bar

The Weight of the Top Extra bar = d²/162 The length of the top extra bar

The Weight of the Top Extra bar = 16²/162 x 17.500 = 28kg

Total weight of the 16mm bar

Total weight of the 16mm bar = 182+28=210kg

Total weight of the 12mm bar

Total weight of the 12mm bar = 80kg

This method of finding the bar bending schedule of a one-way slab and the same method of finding the bar bending schedule for two way slab but just add the bend-up bar on both sides of the slab
